Tokyo International Film Festival showcasing Next Generation of ASEAN’s Filmmakers

The Japan Foundation Asia Center will present the new generation of Southeast Asia’s filmmakers recommended by the maestros in the same region at the fourth edition of “CROSSCUT ASIA”, the Asian film showcase series, entitled “What’s Next from Southeast Asia” at the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF).

CROSSCUT ASIA series was jointly launched by the Asia Center and the TIFF in 2014 to showcase Asian films with a focus on specific countries, directors or themes. Following the first three editions that featured Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia respectively, the fourth edition will encompass a larger area of Southeast Asia as this year marks the 50th anniversary of the formation of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations).
