“ricca ricca*festa” (Official Name: International Theater Festival OKINAWA for Young Audiences) is an international festival of performing arts for children, young people and their families which has taken place in Okinawa annually since 2005. ricca ricca*festa 2017 is the 14th edition including the first festival in 1994.
The festival presents high-quality productions which are carefully selected with the motto of ‘productions which can be enjoyed from 0 year old to adults’.
ricca ricca*festa does not only present productions but also organises networking programme, symposium and workshop for TYA (Theatre for Young Audiences) practitioners in Asia and beyond. It is a popular summer event for local families and at the same timean active platform for artists and professionals worldwide.

The Japan Foundation Asia Center will present the new generation of Southeast Asia’s filmmakers recommended by the maestros in the same region at the fourth edition of “CROSSCUT ASIA”, the Asian film showcase series, entitled “What’s Next from Southeast Asia” at the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF).

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Japan Foundation will launch the Eleventh Japan International MANGA Award and begin to accept entries for the Award.
Entries will be accepted as follows:
(1) From Friday, March 17th to Friday, June 30th 2017.
(2) Entries need to be sent to Japanese diplomatic missions abroad (excluding permanent missions) or the P.O. Box of the Eleventh Japan International MANGA Award.
Among entries, the gold Award will be given to the best work and the Silver Awards to the three other excellent works. The awardees will be invited to Japan by the Japan Foundation to attend the award ceremony. During their stay in Japan, they will also have the opportunity to exchange ideas with Japanese MANGA creators, visit publishing companies and make an excursion to local sites.

Talents Tokyo 2017 (TT2017), the Asian talent development and networking platform for film, will take place again from November 20 (Mon) to November 25 (Sat), 2017 during the 18th TOKYO FILMeX in 2017. We will welcome applications from May 15 (Mon) to June 15 (Thurs), 2017.
Fifteen successful “Talents” (participants) will have the opportunity to work on their own film projects and build networks among young filmmakers and film professionals throughout the 6-day workshop.
Many, including Singaporean director Mr. Anthony Chen and Filipina producer Ms. Bianca Balbuena, have studied at Talents Tokyo, producing over one hundred “alumni.” Talents Tokyo also continues to encourage its alumni to materialize their film projects through the Next Masters Support Program.
